This body of work from 2009 is encaustic and mixed media encaustic paintings on wood. During this time I was thinking a lot about how artists legitimately leave their mark on their work. Freedom should be a requirement to exercise creativity and the production of art. Painting is an extraordinary experience and privilege that challenges the boundaries of what art represents. Exploration and experimentation are very central to expose the truth art can reveal about the conversation between the artist and the content. Creativity represents the pursuit of individuality and the forging of a stylistic uniqueness that is recognizably the artist's own. It is important to understand that the solution for creativity lays in imagination. It is the artist's declaration of individuality over prevailing styles, existing art forms and leaving their impressions on work that indicate the very spirit of artistic creativity.*
